Addis Abeba, May 23/2018 – Reports coming from sources within Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs say that the ministry has recalled Amb. Amin Abdulkadir, Ethiopia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and based in Riyadh and Wubshet Demise, Ethiopia’s consul general based in Jeddah are recalled to report to the ministry.
According to Fitsum Arega, Chief of Staff at the PM’s Office, the PM Abiy has also “met & comforted” Halima, the “distraught but resilient mother” of Mohammed Abdul Aziz Yahya, the 16 year old Ethiopian who was left paralyzed in Jeddah hospital for the past twelve years due to botched medical procedure. Mohammed’s family has reached an agreement with the Saudi government for full compensations and a said to return to Ethiopia soon.
Addressing a public gathering in Addis Abeba on Saturday May 20th, PM Abiy Ahmed also said he has reached a “100%” agreement with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding the release of Ethiopian born billionaire Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi, who is in prison in the Kingdom.
Our sources did not specify the reason for the recalling but said both are expected to report to the ministry “any time soon.”
